Well, we have a very simple solution for this problem that will also help you
to save a little weight and lighten up your buggy. The solution involves replacing the
supplied M4 self-tapping screws with Team Associated aluminum flathead 8-32 machine type
screws. I like to get the ones that are used in Associated on road cars. They are about an
inch and a half long, that way I can cut them to the exact length necessary using a Dremel
tool with a cut-off disk. Now to properly change over the screws we must drill the
holes in the chassis slightly bigger, this is to create a proper clearance hole for the
screws as they are slightly larger in diameter than the factory screws. An
11/64" drill works quite well but if you have a metric size that is close it will
work fine too. Dont worry about the possibility of the gear There you have it, you will now have screws that wont back out on their own. You will have a much more reliable and robust buggy. Also, because you have replaced steel with aluminum you have saved a little bit of weight and less weight means more speed and agility.
